'In the Same Place Twice' is my first video installation and the sister project to 'Carry Me', where both feature shared motifs and document my experience of daily life in New York. Here, the soundscape/visualiser 'The Same Place Twice' takes centre stage on the main projector and floods the room with the blue bottle hue and with sounds of the city. It is created by documenting my journey to and from my residence and splicing together key moments that reflect the spirit of these commutes.

On the two TV monitors are silent videos, 'With Waves' and 'Trapping Transparencies', which consider the notion of a message in a bottle and operate a visual call and response with one another. Finally, the back projector displays images by myself and those close to me that feature the colour blue in the weeks before the install. It circles through a constellation of moments while forming conversational connections between differing everyday objects, using blue as a grounding device and throughway for the rest of my investigation.

Looking at, in and through the blue bottles, the piece reiterates the significance of finding something belonging to another and gives the audience a closer look at the contents of my bottle, of my life at this specific point in time. It is an immersive, experiential work that presents my internal landscape in line with the interior contents of a message in a bottle.
